The prevention of the arms race in outer space has attracted the attention of the world for decades. With the growing ability of mankind to explore and use outer space, the danger of the weaponization of outer space has become increasingly imminent. Even after aware of the consequences of this not-so-needful arms race, many countries are just showing their military existence by producing more efficient and Eco-deadly Nuclear Weapons which could further result in a war. A war, whose consequences cannot be justified even if God tries to avoid this.
India, a developing nation is also proving its ability to research and develop stuffs, which are rather useless or not needed. Taking in consideration, the recently launched Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs), India too has joined the ‘Elite Club’ of having this deadly weapon with 4 other countries. This entry remarks the supreme power of India in the world. Besides, the newly acquired ‘Mission Mars’ initiated by NASA is touching those secrets of universe, which are not subjected to be crossed, laid by God.
Outer celestial bodies such as Moon, Stars, Galaxies and many more which are yet to be discovered are meant for the overall usage of mankind and not for a single nation. The use of these celestial bodies should be beneficial to every country.
On the contrary, recent reports suggests some inhuman like activities by humans in order to acquire the land on moon and stars too. Recent policies of a warring nation works on the principle “Aim for Moon, if you miss, you may hit a star”. To prevent this misfortune some international rules are needed to be imposed on every nation. This committee, which imposes the following rules is called ad-hoc committee PAROS i.e. Prevention of Arms Race in Outer Space – 1994.
India is an eligible member of this committee signed for peaceful treatment and usage of the outer space. India with due regards should comply some regulations on itself and also on other countries, and those should be:

International Agreements: Those agreements which states the possible amounts of usage of outer space with a vow to use it peacefully. Concerned efforts by all countries, several international treaties related to outer space should be concluded like the Outer Space Treaty, the Moon Agreement, the Registration Convention, the Convention on International Liability for Damage Caused By Space Objects, and the Agreement on the Rescue of Astronauts, the Return of Astronauts and the Return of Objects Launched into Outer Space. These treaties have contributed, to some extent, to the prevention of the arms race in outer space.
Apart from these treaties, prioritization of countries should be diverted towards the beautiful space provided by God, as this may prove to be a catalyst in decreasing their anxiety or excitement in arms race. Further measures are also necessary to be taken with respect to the peace agreements.

Countries should actively participate in sharing a proper amount of information about the outer space and extra-terrestrial bodies.

Groups can be organized on the basis of the capabilities of the active nations, which are way more accurate than those of newcomers.

Total transparency should be implied so as to contradict the error occurred due to any kind of mistake by any of the active nations.
However, with the rapid development of science and technology, and with the change of security concepts, these treaties are far from adequate to prevent the arms race in outer space. There are many loopholes within these treaties.

First, they cannot prevent testing, and use of weapons other than those of mass destruction in outer space, especially in orbit around the Earth other than the Moon and outer space.

Second, they do not deal with issues such as forces used from land, sea or air against outer space objects.

Third, with the entry of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty, the international legal system has been weakened and has lost its faith among people.

If we fail to take effective measures in coping with the danger of the weaponization of outer space to prevent the development and use of new destructive military technology and equipment before they emerge, history is likely to be repeated as in case of world war and that too on a very larger scale and new tragedies will occur, and our children will suffer heavily for our immature behavior. Therefore, what we need is action, not debate. The international community should immediately take effective measures to cut the further risks attached. India in a way can just help it by supporting newer pacts proposed with a hope to save the outer space and share it peacefully.

Right action at the right time is must so as to prevent the further danger of provoking mankind.
Generating faith is also important among people so that they can believe in us and what we say.
By making awareness about the devastating consequences of all kind of wars and attacks worldwide.
And also sympathy is the most important point in getting this operation smoothly done.
Otherwise every nation will be warring for its own space in outer space following the arms race and it will be suffered by the mankind adversely.

For the welfare in the future related to this issue, an international protest is being organised for a week on October 6 - 13, 2012 and is called as "keep space for free week".
If this prevention tasks are further violated, it may be possible that, the next major thing for our country could be “How India Can Survive In The Arms Race In Outer Space”.

nice essay...
but i don't agree on a few points.

1)UN is there as a peacekeeping international body on earth since 1945 but even till today it is not capable of completely ending the arm-race on earth.
There are so many human rights violation issues in Africa and several under-developed or developing countries. UN is unable to keep a check on all this till date.
How can you expect an international space organization to be completely able to check arm-race in space.
An international body will mostly consist of rich and powerful nations controlling the organization which they will use for their own goods. (just like the veto-power countries in UN)
The gesture you suggested is nice but hypothetical and unrealistic (at least under current circumstances).

2)If other countries are creating weapons for space, why should India lag behind in the race!
We live in a world where peace means having a bigger stick than the other guy. And that is all India trying to do. We don't want to invade, but at the same time we don't want to get invaded as well. India's nuclear policy clearly states that India will not be the first country to use it. But if some other country use it on India, India will not hesitate in using nukes.

But anyway that is my opinion. Nice essay otherwise. Nice thinking and idea!!
